I met my first Japanese Chin (or Japanese Spaniel, as the breed was called then) in the early 70's when living near Las Vegas, Nevada. I became friends with breeders Laurie and Glae Bickford. The various sizes and colors of dogs intriqued me, and I vowed to have one someday. That day came early in 1992 when I bought my first chin, a sable and white puppy girl. Then I was blessed with the opportunity to purchase a wonderful champion male named CH Jeskit Azamat Daystar in April of 1992. He sired my first show Chin, Phantasy Heir To The Throne or better know as "Seymour". After carefully watching large entries of Chin at dog shows for more than a year, I entered Seymour in the bred by class and came away with a 4 point major the first time out. He finished, breeder, owner handled in 5 shows with 4 majors. I was hooked. Seymour went on to win 7 toy groups and over 20 group placements shown by my good friend Lori Wilson, or myself. He also has collected over 130 best of breed wins and an Award of Merit at the 1998 Westminister Kennel Club show. Also he was best veteran and an award of merit winner at the 2000 JCCA national specialty. His son, Phantasy Mr Big Stuff was reserve winners dog at that specialty also. An important addition to my breeding program was the great CH Tosaho Preston, currently the sire of 28 champions. His prepotency shows in Phantasy and other lines in these younger generations. Also, the acquisition of CH Sangria Sparticus from England in 1997 has given us some wonderful young dogs with that classic English look. Most of all, we are humbly greatful for the opportunity to be owned and loved by the most wonderful breed, the Japanese Chin.
